Class 5 went to Great Cressingham to experience what it would have been like in the Victorian period in school. Ma'am, Miss North, taught the children reading, writing and arithmetic supported by Miss Dove. The children wrote with slate pencils and slate. They all had a typical Victorian lunch of bread, cheese, cake and apples, which were all wrapped in baking paper and tea towels. In the playground there were metal hoops, oak skittles, spinning tops and marbles to enjoy at playtime. The girls then made lavender bags and the boys drew pictures of Natural History objects. It was a fantastic day and the children (and adults) fully immersed themselves in the day.
