The whole school were invited by the Walpole Parish Foundation & Recreational Trust Community to plant trees just off Springfield Estate, which in years to come, will be known locally as Walpole Wood. Teachers and children went across to the field and dug holes to plant the saplings.
There were lots of spooky costumes on display, when we all dressed up for Halloween!
Classes 3 and 4 took part in the West Norfolk SSP Football League Tournament against Class 6 children from St Martha's Primary School, King's Lynn. A great time was had by all!
Nothing says the end of term quite like an afternoon of fun, and ACFA made that happen! There were lots of activities for the children to enjoy and a fabulous time was had by all. We are very grateful for all the hard work that ACFA put in to give the children treats; not just today, but throughout the year.
Recently, we drew, and coloured in, drawings of bees to give to the residents of Lynncroft Residential Home. Each class had one picture chosen as the best by the residents and the children received a prize. It was all part of an initiative run by Lynncroft.
Our budding rock stars showed the staff and their parents what they have been learning for the past few weeks with iRock School of Music
We really enjoyed Sports Stars Friday, where dressed in our sports clothes and took part in lots of PE activities!
Classes 3 and 4 went to the Royal Norfolk show. They had designed and produced a garden with the help of school parents, Mr and Mrs Price, and we are super-proud to say that their entry won the Gold Award! Thank you to all who helped with getting this altogether, particularly the Prices, who said how proud they were of the children as they had engaged and worked so hard.
Mrs Allen took some Year 3 and 4 children to a recent tennis event. She praised their excellent sportsmanship, effort and skills. We are very proud of you:

We are very proud to have been awarded Norfolk PE KS1 Sporting Stars Gold Award 23/24 and Norfolk PE KS2 Sporting Stars Silver Award 23/24, as well as the School Games Bronze Sports Mark Award for 23/24.
The School Games Sports Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward and recognise schools engagement (provision and uptake) in the School Games against a national benchmark and to celebrate keeping young people active.
It was lovely to see Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs in their smart uniforms for St George's Day!
A lovely morning was spent at Walpole St Andrew's Church during the Easter break. Lots of children came along to take part and look for clues in an Easter Egg Hunt. Big thanks go to Stuart, Kester and the team for organising the event; to St Andrew's Church for donating Easter Eggs and treats for each class winner, and thank you to the judges for picking the winners of the school children's Easter Egg Colouring Competition, who are as follows:
Reception Class - Rosie
Class 1 - Elisha
Class 2 - Loxley
Class 3 - Lily
Class 4 - Amber
Class 5 - Emma
Class 6 - Olivia
After School Club - Luca
Mrs Gant would like to say a very big thank you to all who made cakes and donated money for the Year 3 and Year 4 Bake Sale. The total raised was £300.50, which will go towards the plants needed for the Royal Norfolk Show Garden Design. The winner of the Easter Egg 100 square was Darcy Price from Year 4 and the number was 38.
Classical Music Rocks organised a workshop with Classical Pianist, Siobhain O'Higgins. She played some beautiful music and we were amazed that she could talk to us whilst playing at the same time! With carefully placed cameras, we were able to see the internal workings of the piano as she played it.
PC Chris, from the Norfolk Constabulary, came to visit us to tall us about what it's like to police the local community. He had lots of interesting things in his car to show us, as well as all the equipment he has to carry on himself all the time!
Classical Rocks, a music charity for Norfolk schools, arranged for a visit from two classical musicians. Johan Lofving and Yu-Wei Hu brought their instruments to show us and they played some wonderful music. Johan played guitar and the theorbo, which looked like a very long guitar, while Yu-Wei played her flute!
Lloyd, from iRock Music, came to visit to give us a taste of being in a rock band!
Recently, two of our lovely teachers gained their Elklan Certificates.
Miss Jordan is the Assistant Head/Reception Class teacher and EYFS Co-ordinator for both schools, and Mrs Burch is the Reception class teacher and Forest school Lead at Anthony Curton School.
We were very proud of Patryk-Year 6, Roxy-Year 5 and Finley-Year 3, who designed messages for a special hand-bound book, which was presented to King Charles and Queen Camilla after the Coronation The whole school was visited by Mayor of King's Lynn, Margaret Wilkinson, who had originally asked for West Norfolk Schools to take part.
We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming professional flautist, Klio Blonz, to school, where she performed in front of all the children.
